Carson-Newman Listed in Regional Rankings for Second Straight Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The Carson-Newman College volleyball team is listed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Rankings for the second straight week. The Lady Eagles (20-12, 8-4 SAC) join five other South Atlantic Conference teams ranked in the region's top ten.
Wingate remained in the top spot of the poll for the second week in a row. Catawba is ranked second, with Armstrong Atlantic coming in at third. Lander took the fourth spot and Francis Marion jumped to fifth. Tusculum remained sixth, followed by Pfeiffer, Carson-Newman, Newberry and Lincoln Memorial.
Eight teams from each NCAA region will advance to the 64-team NCAA Division II Tournament. The South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas will each send an automatic bid to the Southeast Regional concluding conference tournaments. Five at-large bids will be up for grabs to the NCAA postseason.
The Lady Eagles will travel to rival Tusculum this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
