Carson-Newman Volleyball Sweeps Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-0, Friday Evening In Hickory

Hickory, N.C. - The Carson-Newman College Volleyball Team (18-12, 6-4 SAC) swept Lenoir-Rhyne University (9-16, 1-8 SAC), 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-23), Friday evening in South Atlantic Conference action at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
The Lady Eagles were led by Kelsey Fleck (Celina, Ohio) as she posted a match-high 10 kills and Jessica Schachleiter (Cincinnati, Ohio) with 16 digs, a match-high as well.
L-R sophomore setter Hannah Stewart (Statesville, N.C./West Iredell HS) led all players with 26 assists and nine digs while senior right side hitter Katie Novacek (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS) and freshman outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Mooresville, N.C./Statesville Christian School) tallied seven kills each for the Bears.
With this win, Carson-Newman head coach Shannon Mincey wins her 100th game.
Carson-Newman will be back in action Saturday, October 25 as they face Brevard College in Brevard, N.C. at 12:00 p.m.
