Carson-Newman Sweeps Friday Matches

FLORENCE, S.C. - The Carson-Newman volleyball team picked up a pair of wins in the first day of the Swamp Fox Invitational at Francis Marion University today. The wins put the Lady Eagles 10-6, 1-0 (SAC) on the season.
In their first match of the day, the Lady Eagles swept the Jaguars of Augusta State in three sets (25-21, 25-14, 25-21). Carson-Newman then turned around and defeated Montreat College in another three-set sweep (25-16, 25-21, 25-11).
The Lady Eagles will be back in action in day two of the Swamp Fox Invitational tomorrow. Carson-Newman will face Franklin Pierce at 9 a.m. and host Francis Marion at 3:00 p.m.
