Carson-Newman Sweeps Friday Matches

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Carson-Newman College volleyball team fought their way to a two-match sweep on the first day of the Limestone Southeast Crossover Tournament.
In their first match of the day, the Lady Eagles swept Anderson University 3-0. Carson-Newman won the first set 25-14. The Lady Eagles continued on to win the second and third sets 25-19 and 25-15 respectively.
In the second match of the tournament, Carson-Newman fought off host school Limestone College to win 3-2 in five sets. The Lady Eagles won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-15. Limestone then rallied to even the score 2-2 by winning the third and fourth sets 28-26 and 25-11. The Carson-Newman squad then battled back to get a decisive 15-3 victory in the final set to claim the win.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action again tomorrow at the Limestone Southeast Crossover Tournament. Carson-Newman will take on Lander University at 11:00 am and Mount Olive College at 2:00 pm in Gaffney, South Carolina.
