Lady Eagles knock off King

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagle volleyball team won its fifth straight match Tuesday night with a 3-1 (26-30, 30-19, 30-23, 30-27) win over King College in Bristol.
After dropping the first game, Lady Eagles rebounded to win the last three games.
Junior outside hitter Kelli Sorensen (Maple Grove, Minn.) led the way for C-N with18 kills and 17 digs. Senior outside hitter Melissa Miller (Springfield, Ohio) added 12 kills and 13 digs, while sophomore right-side hitter Kelsey Fleck (Celina, Ohio) added 11 kills, hitting at a .357 clip. Senior middle blocker Meg Davis (Birmingham, Ala.) tallied 10 kills in 14 attempts, with one error, hitting at a .642 clip.
Seniorsetter Kari Gibson (Celina, Ohio) led the Lady Eagles with 52 assists.
Lady Eagle head coach Shannon Mincey improved to 4-0 all-time againt her alma mater.
