March 29, 2007
CHARLESTON, WV-- Senior setter Kari Gibson notched 53 assists and led the Lady Eagles in hitting percentage in defeating Alderson-Broaddus, 3-2 (30-32, 30-19, 30-20, 28-30, 15-13).
The Lady Eagles (5-2) rallied after dropping the first and fourth games of the match. Gibson led the Lady Eagles with a .375 hitting percentage while Haley Bush and Melissa Miller guided the C-N defensive effort with 18 and 13 digs, respectively. Meg Davis had 16 block assists while Erica Lauffer provided a spark of energy off the bench to get the Eagles back on track.
"Erica came off the bench and got two quick kills for us. It just seemed to energize everyone. The team used what happened on Tuesday against TC to their advantage in finding a way to finish that fifth match today. AB was a great team. This is exactly what we needed, " said head coach Shannon Mincey.
