Lady Eagle VB Defeats King

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Melissa Miller and Kari Gibson combined for 26 kills as the Lady Eagles gave coach Shannon Mincey a win over her alma mater King College, 3-0 (30-17, 30-22, 30-25).
The Lady Eagles fired on all cylinders, hitting .400 in the first game and .339 for the match. Gibson led the Lady Eagle offense with her sets and attacks, garnering 39 assists and 13 kills for an astounding .650 hitting percentage. Salem Stepp provided the defensive spark for C-N in leading the team with 11 digs while Miller had four service aces in addition to her 13 kills. Kelsey Fleck added nine kills, Meg Davis collected eight, and Kelli Sorensen finished with seven kills.
"Our team played as well as they have this year," coach Mincey said. "Kari [Gibson] did a tremendous job running the court and keeping the other team guessing. I hope to continue our energy this weekend."
