Lady Eagles Defeat Newberry

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Kelli Sorensen had 10 kills and Kari Gibson 28 assists as Carson-Newman defeated Newberry, 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-21) in South Atlantic volleyball action.
The Lady Eagles (15-12, 6-7 SAC) led from start tio finish as Sorensen and Kaite Troyer paced the C-N offense. Troyer added eight kills and hit a team best .277 in the match. Melissa Miller added seven kills while Kelsey Fleck and Meg Davis added five kills apiece.
The Lady Eagle defense held firm as Haley Bush collected 12 digs while Miller and Sorensen added nine apiece. Miller and Gibson led the Lady Eagles in serving with 3 service aces each.
