Lady Eagles Defeat CBU

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Kelli Sorensen had 15 kills and Haley Bush had 23 digs as the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles defeated Christian Brothers University, 3-1 (30-20, 24-30, 30-20, 30-25).
Carson-Newman (3-1) set the tone in the first game, hitting .379 and recording 15 team killsfor the 10-point win. CBU was held to a mere .107 hitting percentage. CBU recovered in the second game, hitting.407 and winning 30-24.
From there, the Lady Eagles took control. Setter Kari Gibson aided the Eagle attack with 43 assists while Melissa Miller and Katie Troyer combined for 20 of C-N's 61 kills. Bush also had four service aces while Sorensen and Troyer recorded three block assists each.
