Lady Eagles Sweep Anderson

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Carson-Newman had 21 kills out of 29 attempts to win the first game and go on to complete a three-game sweep of Anderson University in the final match of C-N's Labor Day Tournament.
Kelli Sorensen led the Lady Eagles with 12 kills in the match as C-N hit an astounding .655 in the first game, winning 30-18. Kelsey Fleck and Melissa Miller garnered 11 kills apiece.
The Lady Eagles kept the momentum going in the second game, garnering a 30-24 win. Kari Gibson finished the match with 38 assists while Fleck anchored the C-N defensive effort with seven digs. Gibson, Salem Stepp, and Haley Bush had five digs apiece.
In the third game, the Eagles took advantage of Anderson University miscues to win the final game, 30-23. Anderson committed nine serving errors and five serve receiving errors as C-N collected five aces. Stepp led the way with back-to-back aces in the match.
