Carson-Newman Listed in Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - The Carson-Newman women's soccer team is listed in the final regular season NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Rankings. The Lady Eagles are one of five South Atlantic Conference teams earning a spot in the rankings.
Carson-Newman (11-3-2, 6-1-1 SAC) is ranked 3rd in the region and is coming off of a 1-0 win in the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament over Mars Hill. They finished the regular season last Saturday with a 1-0 win over Newberry, clinching the 2008 South Atlantic Conference title.
Columbus State took the number one spot in the rankings, with UNC-Pembroke and Carson-Newman coming in at 2nd and 3rd respectively. Georgia College took the 4th spot, followed by Wingate, Armstrong Atlantic, Lenoir-Rhyne, Catawba, Belmont Abbey and Tusculum.
The Lady Eagles continue in SAC Tournament play Friday afternoon against Lenoir-Rhyne in Rock Hill, S.C. The game is set to start at 3 p.m. at Manchester Meadows.
