Carson-Newman Falls to Lee 4-0

CLEVELAND,TENN. - Carson-Newman fell to Lee University 4-0 in a non-conference match-up Friday night. The Lady Eagles fall to 11-5 overall and Lee improves to 15-1 on the season.
After forty minutes of scoreless play, Lee's Chris Christiansen knocked in a cross from Linn Christiansen in the 41st minute of play to make the halftime score 1-0 in favor of Flames.
Lee struck again in the 65th minute of the game when she placed the ball in the back of the net off of a rebounded shot. Just three minutes later, Chris Christiansen struck again off of a rebounded shot.
Savannah Neely snuck the ball past Carson-Newman keeper Lauren MacKenzie (Barrie, Ontario) in the 71st minute off of a loose ball in the box to make the final score 4-0.
The Lady Eagles were led by freshman Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) with two shots on goal. Carson-Newman keeper MacKenzie tallied 13 saves on the night.
Looking to their match-up agianst conference rival Brevard College, the Lady Eagles will be back in action Wednesday, October 29 at 7 p.m. on McCown Field.
