Lady Eagles Fall to Columbus State

JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. - The Lady Eagles (4-1) fell to the southern powerhouse Columbus State 6-0 during their Sunday match at McCown Field.
The first goal for the Lady Cougars came from Leslie Mathews when she slid the ball past CN keeper Lauren MacKenzie. This goal was quickly followed by a shot from Stephanie Parrish who found the top right corner of the net to make the score 2-0 in the 16th minute of the game.
Columbus State continued to find the back of the net in the first half when Rachel Walthall and Kelsey both finished the ball to make the half time score of the game 4-0.
After half time Columbus State came out strong and Stephanie Parrish added another goal to the Lady Cougar score in the 58th minute of the game. Parrish finished the game with a hat trick as she finished a cross from Melinda Bush in the last minute of the game to seal the win for the Lady Cougars.
Carson-Newman will face King College on wednesday September 17 in Bristol, Va.
