Carson-Newman's Ashley Kyle named SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman College's Ashley Kyle has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by league officials today.
Kyle, a junior guard from Jefferson City, Tenn., led the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 week with wins over Division I UNC Asheville and SAC opponent Mars Hill.
On the week, Kyle averaged 18 points per game and shot 61 percent from the floor, knocking down 14-of-23 shot attempts, including a 9-of-11 effort in the win over Mars Hill.
On Wednesday night, Kyle helped manage a 78-74 road win over the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville. She scored 15 points, dished out six assists, nabbed three steals and grabbed two rebounds.
In Saturday's 95-78 conference win over Mars Hill, Kyle was 9-of-11 from the floor and scored 21 points to go with six assists and two rebounds. Carson-Newman is now 11-3 on the season and 2-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.
