Dingle's finest - Uosis selected to Irish national team

DUBLIN, Ireland - Carson-Newman redshirt sophomore forward Aivaras Uosis (Dingle, Ireland) has been selected to represent his home country. Ireland, for the FIBA Eurobasket Pre-Qualifiers.
Uosis will suit up for the senior team for the first time ever on June 28 when it takes on Armenia in an international friendly in Los Angeles.
FIBA Eurobasket qualifying begins on July 2 with a contest against North Macedonia in Skopje and continues on July 5 against Azerbaijan in Baku.
Uosis starred for Ireland's U20 men's national team the last two years. He was the captain for the U18 Irish National Team, Uosis led that team in efficiency while averaging 14.7 points per game. He was a U18 Four Nations All-Star Five selection in both 2022 and 2023 and the MVP of the U20 National League Final. He dropped 36 to earn MVP honors in the U19 All Ireland Schools C Cup Final.
This past year for Carson-Newman, Uosis emerged as a key player off the bench in the back half of the season. He averaged 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Of his 20 appearances, 16 came in calendar year 2026. He scored a career-high 10 points in his second career game against Anderson (Dec. 13).
