LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Carson-Newman Associate AD for Media Relations/External Operations and the Voice of the Eagles Adam Cavalier has been named the national winner of the inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award, Flo announced Tuesday afternoon.
The FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award celebrates communicators and CSC staff who go above and beyond to elevate their student-athletes, athletic programs and institutions through strategic storytelling, advocacy and a commitment to excellence. The award highlights individuals who set the standard in the profession by building meaningful relationships, producing impactful content, enhancing broadcast quality, navigating crises with professionalism and championing the achievements of those they serve.
"We're incredibly proud of Adam Cavalier in earning this professional honor from FloSports!" Carson-Newman Vice President for Athletics Matt Pope said. "As the Associate AD for Atheltic Communications at Carson-Newman, Adam is an extremely valuable member of our athletic leadership team as well as our university family. We are so excited that he was selected from such a prestigious list of nominees and we congratulate him for this well-earned industry award."
Cavalier is wrapping up his 14th season on the banks of Mossy Creek. During Cavalier's tenure, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications office has grown by leaps and bounds. The office has produced a mountain of video content that has been viewed by more than 2.4 million people for a watch time north of 10 years.
In 2022, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Office was named the SAC's Media Relations Staff of the Year under Cavalier's leadership.
"I'm grateful and humbled to receive this recognition," Cavalier said. "But I am only in this position because of the coaches, adminstrators and colleagues who set us up for any successes we may have. I'm blessed to get to work with Andrew Rogers, Ian Johnson, Jay West, Rheanna DeCrow and Matthew Scalzo. Any recognition for me should be shared with them."
