Football at #19/20 Wingate (Sept. 27)
Carson-Newman had not won at Irwin Belk Stadium in a decade, but a rematch of last season's South Atlantic Conference Championship game, even the elements couldn't stop the Eagles from getting the job done. C-N held No. 19/20-ranked Wingate to a season-low offensive output en route to a brutish 21-14 win. Carson-Newman snapped a three-game losing streak to the Bulldogs at Irwin Belk while limiting the country's fifth-highest scoring offense to a season-low 14 points.
Football vs #19/17 Lenoir-Rhyne (Sept. 20)
It took nearly three extra hours thanks to lightning delays, but Carson-Newman snapped multiple losing streaks to No. 19/17 Lenoir-Rhyne in a dominating 24-7 win. the victory ends a six-game losing skid to LR (2-2, 2-1) and a five-game losing streak to the Bears at Burke-Tarr. C-N hadn't enjoyed a win over LR since 2018 in Hickory and 2012 in Mossy Creek. The seven points surrendered to Lenoir-Rhyne is the lowest allowed by C-N to a nationally-ranked foe since 1999.
Women's Golf at Savannah Lakes Invitational (Sept. 22-23)
Thanks to a record-breaking third round score, the Eagles took third at the Savannah Lakes Invitational, marking their best finish of the season. With a total team score of 888 and an individual medalist in Emery Fisher, women's golf placed ahead of #17 Lander, #25 West Florida, and #31 Lenoir-Rhyne. On top of that, Fisher took down three of the top 25 players in the nation, and capped off the tournament with a playoff victory over the #10 player in Division II.
