Browder makes the cut for Hudgins Award's final 15
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carson-Newman senior forward Jack Browder has been named to the top 15 watch list for the prestigious Trevor Hudgins Award, Small College Basketball announced Sunday afternoon.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carson-Newman senior forward Jack Browder has been named to the top 15 watch list for the prestigious Trevor Hudgins Award, Small College Basketball announced Sunday afternoon.
The award is in the third year of its existence. Browder is the first player from the South Atlantic Conference to receive recognition on the watch list.
The Trevor Hudgins Award is presented annually to the senior who has had the finest overall four-year career within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be overall career statistics and achievements, team achievements, awards, and personal character. The player must have played his entire career at the small college level. This is the highest award given to a four-year player within Small College Basketball.
Browder is also on the watch list for Small College Basketball's Bevo Francis Award, given to the top player in all Small College Basketball.
He has set the SAC single-game record for free throws made in a game without missing. Connecting on all 21 of his foul shots on senior day in an overtime loss to Lenoir-Rhyne.
With 230 made free throws this season, he is second all-time in SAC history for free throws made in a season.
