C-N carries unbeaten streak into Harrogate
Carson-Newman (6-3-1, 2-2-1 SAC) plays its penultimate road game of the regular season when it visits Lincoln Memorial (5-4-2, 1-3-1 SAC) for a South Atlantic Conference contest Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (6-3-1, 2-2-1 SAC) plays its penultimate road game of the regular season when it visits Lincoln Memorial (5-4-2, 1-3-1 SAC) for a South Atlantic Conference contest Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
Carson-Newman is playing some of its best soccer of the season, unbeaten in its past four matches which have included three victories. During this unbeaten stretch, C-N has outscored its opponents 12-3 and has posted shutouts in two of those four wins.
When scoring multiple goals under Duffy, C-N has been really good and especially this season. All six of Carson-Newman's wins are when it has scored two more goals. The Eagles are now 77-2-6 when scoring two or more goals under Duffy.
Molly Bukiewicz (Beavercreek, Ohio) continues to shine in her sixth and final season along the banks of Mossy Creek. The graduate student is third in the SAC with seven goals. Her fantastic season has come with remarkable efficiency. Her seven goals have been scored on just 18 shots, scoring 39 percent of shots this season. That mark is the best among attacking players that average at least 1 shot per match. Furthermore, nine of her 18 shots have hit the target and seven of those nine have gone in the back of the net.
Another game for Carson-Newman soccer and another chance to extend multiple streaks. Another win or tie can extend C-N's unbeaten streak to five games, which would be the longest unbeaten streak since 2022. Three of those four games during this streak have been in conference play. It's the longest unbeaten streak in league play since 2023. Carson-Newman has won back-to-back road matches, a win on Wednesday could make for the program's first three-game road winning streak since the 2019-20 seasons.
The Eagles lead the all-time series 20-11-3, but over the past 10 meetings things have been pretty even. LMU's win in Mossy Creek last season has the series tied at 4-4-2 over the last 10 matchups. Seven of those ten have been decided by one goal or less. Neither side has scored more than two goals in the past eight meetings.
Lincoln Memorial has ventured through a gauntlet of a schedule just beyond the halfway point of the season. The Railsplitters have played the top three teams from the 2025 SAC Preseason Poll and #5 North Georgia in non-conference play. Those are the four losses and they have stayed above .500 because of going 5-0-2 in their other seven matches this season. After a three-game losing streak in mid-September, LMU enters Wednesday's match having won three of their past five matches.
Not only has LMU played one of the more challenging schedules in the Southeast region, it has done so by playing a majority of their games on the road. Lincoln Memorial's only two home games came in the same week to end September, wins over Converse and Coker. Eight of the other nine games have been on the road, where the Railsplitters have posted a 3-4-1 record. They have the second-most losses in league play this season with three and are currently ninth in the SAC standings.
The Railsplitters have proven to be one of the more physical teams in the league this season, averaging six fouls per game the most in the SAC and 20th most nationally. Offensively, they rank highly in a few areas. Head coach Tasha Flynn's squad manages to get nearly seven corner kicks per match, 14th best nationally. Despite ranking middle of the pack in goals, LMU fires more than seven shots on goal a game, third-best in the SAC.
Paige Branam is LMU's team leader in goals with five in eight games. The offense has balance, seeing nine different players score and eight that have attempted double-digit shots in 2025.
First touch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. A video stream of the match is available with a subscription to FloSports at cneagles.com/floWsoc.
