ABCA ranks C-N for the seventh straight week
For the seventh straight week, Carson-Newman baseball (33-14) is ranked by the American Baseball Coaches Association, sliding back three spots to No. 17 in the latest poll that was announced yesterday.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the seventh straight week, Carson-Newman baseball (33-14) is ranked by the American Baseball Coaches Association, sliding back three spots to No. 17 in the latest poll that was announced yesterday.
The Eagles drop back three spots after making their biggest jump in this poll just last week. C-N went 2-2 last week, which included a series-opening win over #11 Catawba.
Carson-Newman is one of three teams from the South Atlantic Conference in the rankings. Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba stay put at No. 11 and 12 in the rankings.
Four other schools in the Southeast region are in the rankings, headlined by three Conference Carolinas schools. The CC has the highest ranked team in the region, Young moves up to 7, with North Greenville two spots back at 9. Francis Marion moves up three spots to 24. North Georgia is the only Peach Belt school in the rankings, moving up to 14 after going unbeaten last week.
No. 17 Carson-Newman concludes the regular season this weekend with Mars Hill. The three-game home weekend series is scheduled to begin on Friday at 3:00 p.m. All games will air with a video stream available on FloSports with a subscription.
