ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the first time in his career, Logan Floyd earns a weekly honor. The sophomore infielder was announced as this week's South Atlantic Conference player of the week, the league office announced earlier today.
The sophomore becomes the second Eagles hitter to be named player of the week, joining Nicholas Castellana who was recognized after the first week of the season. Floyd is the fourth different Eagle to earn a weekly honor this season.
It's the first time since 2019 that Carson-Newman baseball has two different hitters earn player of the week honors in one season.
Floyd's first career player of the week honor comes after an impressive week at the plate to help #21 Carson-Newman post a 3-1 record this past week.
He started the week with a two-hit, five RBI performance in a 16-2 win over UVA Wise. His five RBI game matched his career high. Floyd started the scoring in that game with a two-run home run to right field.
