C-N up two more spots in DII Baseball poll
In Division II Baseball's latest top 25 rankings, Carson-Newman moved up for the third straight week to No. 19 in the poll that was released to the public on Monday afternoon.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In Division II Baseball's latest top 25 rankings, Carson-Newman moved up for the third straight week to No. 19 in the poll that was released to the public on Monday afternoon.
This is the fifth time this season and the fourth straight week that DII Baseball has ranked C-N in the top 25. C-N has moved up three spots over the past three weeks.
Carson-Newman is 26-8 overall this season. Those 26 wins are tied for second-most in the Southeast region. It has a 15-3 record in South Atlantic Conference games. It has maintained first place in the league all season long and has a 13-7 record against teams with winning records.
The Eagles are joined by South Atlantic Conference schools and future opponents Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne in the rankings. LR drops two spots to number five, while the Indians rank 13th. C-N plays both schools in back-to-back weekend series' in mid-April.
Carson-Newman is one of seven Southeast region schools ranked by DII baseball. North Greenville is eighth, Young Harris is 12th, North Georgia is 17th and Francis Marion is 21st.
Carson-Newman is back in action tomorrow afternoon against Alabama Huntsville. First pitch from Charger Park is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game will air with a free audio stream available courtesy of the Eagle Sports Network on cneagles.com/live.
