Larrame sets another school record as the regular season concludes
One day after breaking the school record in the 200m, Lovelyne Larrame does it again, this time in the 400m at the Music City Challenge.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The regular season has come to a close for Carson-Newman, and it ends on a high note on Valentine's Day. One day after breaking the school record in the 200m, Lovelyne Larrame does it again, this time in the 400m at the Music City Challenge.
The graduate student continues to impress for head coach Kieran Showler-Davis and company, placing fourth overall in the 400m with her time of 55.39 seconds. Larrame's time places her 19th in the nation in the 400m.
Elsewhere on the track, Rylan Jordan took first place in the 60m finals with a time of 6.67 seconds. It's a new personal record for the sophomore and the second-fastest time in Carson-Newman history.
Jordan's dash in the finals was good for the eighth-best time in the nation. He also set the fastest time in the semifinals at 6.71 seconds.
Elsewhere around the track, Emmett Watson (48.04) and Ethan Blaylock (50.16) both set their PRs in the 400m. Watson took second place in the unseeded event. Bryson Burkett set his new season-best in the 800m (1:55.46) and a PR in the mile (4:23.63). Also, Lidija Djokic set a new PR in the 400m (1:00.44).
In the field, Carlos Kouassi finished seventh in the triple jump at 14.71 meters.
MILL SPRING, N.C. – At the Tryon Mid-Winter Invitational,
Maggie Hope took third place in the mile with a time of 5:34.70.
Merlin Silveri qualified for the 60m finals, clocking a 6.92 in the preliminary rounds, while Taylor Madison was just in front of him at 6.91 seconds. In the finals, Silveri took fifth at 6.93 seconds and Madison in sixth, 6.93.
As the regular season has come and gone, the Eagles now shift their focus to the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on the 28th of February and March 1st.
