JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Eagles have lined up a big travel schedule in hopes of making it back to the NCAA Regional for the second year in a row.
It was a strong fall for the Carson-Newman Women's Golf team, who took home a podium finish in their four tournaments as well as an individual medalist. The Eagles were strong enough to register #37 ranking in the country. They sit #20 in the region.
The Eagles will participate in five tournaments, including the SAC Championship in the second week of April. All five of the Eagles tournaments are quite a distance from Mossy Creek. C-N won't have less than a three-hour drive to any of their tournaments this spring.
The Eagles kick things off at the beginning of next week, February 16-17, at the Battle of Hilton Head. The women will take on the Robert Trent Jones at Palmetto Dunes course to battle a 19-team field with #9 North Georgia, #28 Erskine, #1 Wingate, #30 Lenoir-Rhyne, and #18 Lander. Last season, C-N took 2nd at this tournament.
After a two-week hiatus, the Eagles return to the links for the Jerry Surratt Memorial in Monroe, North Carolina. On March 9-10, Wingate's home event will host three top ten teams, and give C-N another chance to improve its ranking.
A week later, the Eagles will play the Oldfield Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort. Oldfield Golf Club will play around 6,200 yards for women and features a challenging layout in collaboration with Norman Golf. This will be a great opportunity for the Eagles to place high on the leaderboard.
After a week off, the Eagles wrap up the regular season with the CSU Lady Cougar Classic in Columbus, GA on March 30-31st. The Eagles will have the chance at two teams ranked above them in Lenior-Rhyne and #24 West Florida.
The 2026 Women's Golf SAC Championships begin on April 12th and extend to April 14th at the Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, S.C. In what will be a new format in 2026, the field will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. Following a cut to the top four teams, the remaining players will play match play (#1 vs #4, #2 vs #3) on Tuesday. The remaining two teams will play another round of match play to decide the conference champion.
Carson-Newman kicks off their spring with the Battle of Hilton Head at the beginning of next week, Monday, February 16th, through Tuesday, February 17th.
