Lander hosts Savannah Lakes Women’s Fall Invite as women’s golf looks to build upon last week
Women’s golf will head to McCormick, South Carolina to face a field of 15 that includes the #13 Lee Lady Flames and #19 Lander.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Women's golf will head to McCormick, South Carolina to face a field of 15 that includes the #13 Lee Lady Flames and #19 Lander.
After a 13th-place finish last week at the NCAA DII South Regional Preview, women's golf will look to their second tournament in the fall of 2025 to build upon the positives they saw in the first event.
Emery Fisher was the best finisher for the Eagles last week, owning sole possession of first place after the first two rounds that included a stellar round of 71(-1). After a challenging second day, the junior would end up in the top 20 for the Eagles in a stacked field.
Her performance on the weekend will slot her back in the number one spot for Carson-Newman.
Grace Lambert was just outside the top 20, but ended her three rounds on an extremely positive note. The freshman logged a final 18 hole score at even par for a 21st place. She will occupy the second slot in the Eagles lineup.
The graduate student Anaelle Picot had a wonderful even par score in her first round of the NCAA Preview, but would go on to log a round at 80 and 81 for to land 46th in the field. With plenty of experience and a great round to build on, Picot will enter the field in the three spot.
Rounding out the Carson-Newman lineup will be Madison Miller at four and Rylee Tucker at three. Miller was the individual for the Eagles last week, but earned her way into the lineup after carding two straight rounds in the 70's.
Tucker finished T-91 in the field last week, and will look to build upon her best round of 83 last weekend.
Monticello is a modern links course with plenty of water hazards along the forested South Carolina shoreline. The golf course was designed by Tom Clark and bears Mini-Verde greens. This weekend, the ladies will be playing from a combination of the gold and white tees at a par 72, around 5800 yards.
Carson-Newman women's golf tees off at 8:30 AM on Monday morning for 36 holes on day one and the remaining 18 at 9:00 AM September 23 on Tuesday.
