McIntyre and Lamson lead Blue Sox to 5-2 win

Wes McIntyre (JR) threw a complete game, 5-hitter to lead the Blue Sox to 5-2 win to even the series at 1-1. The Orange Dirt Bags would score first in the 2nd inning on a solo home run by Nick Sherrod (FR), his 2nd in 2 days. The Blue Sox would tie the game in the top of 3rd on a ground out by Zach Long (FR). Cody Nix (SO), leadoff the inning with a walk and stole 2nd. On a 1-out hit and run, Nix continued home on the the throw to 1B and beat the throw to the plate to tie the game. Following that play, Aaron Vargas (FR) would single, followed by a Derek Long (JR) single. With 2 strikes, Corey Lamson (JR) delivered a shot to CF for a triple to drive in 2 runs. Antonio Nickel (FR) would get Lamson in on a ground out to make the score 5-1. The Dirt Bags would score again in the 7th on a Wesley Dozier (SO) single, but it was too little, too late.
The Dirt Bags were led by Wesley Dozier, who was 2-4 with a RBI and Nick Sherrod, 1-2 with a HR. Justin Higdon (SR) started for the Dirt Bags and went 4 innings giving up 4 hits and striking out 6 batters.
Cody Nix was 1-2 with a double, run scored, walk and stolen base for the Blue Sox.
