Eagles to face Brevard at Smokies Park on April 5th

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Eagle baseball team will host Brevard College on April 5 at Smokies Park in Kodak, Tenn.
First pitch of the final game of the three-game set between the Eagles and Tornados is at 1 p.m. Smokies Park is home to the Tennessee Smokies, the double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The two teams will play a Saturday doubleheader at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex in Jefferson City beginning at noon.
Baseball historian and author Doug Williams will leadoff the weekend, speaking Friday night about his book So Many Summer Fields, which focuses on baseball and its history from the 1920s-1960s. Williams' and his baseball memorabilia collection have been featured in Sports Collectors Digest.

Williams' lecture is Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Recital Hall on the Carson-Newman campus. Admission is $10 and open to the public. Friday night's ticket can also be used to get into Sunday's game at Smokies Park. To purchase tickets in advance, call the C-N Baseball Office at (865) 471-3465.
The Eagles are 14-10 on the year, and return to action on Tuesday at Belmont Abbey College at 2 p.m. C-N returns home on Thursday to host Anderson University at 2 p.m. before hosting rival Tusculum in a three-game series this weekend.
