Carson-Newman's Ariail named SAC Pitcher of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Carson-Newman's Corbin Ariail has been named South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors announced conference officials Tuesday.
Ariail, 6-4, 170-pound sophomore reliever from Elgin, S.C., recorded a pair saves in Carson-Newman's three-game sweep of No. 22 Northern Kentucky. He came aboard in the series opener and pitched the final 4.2 innings in an 8-3 win over the nationally-ranked Norse where he scattered five hits, allowed two runs, one earned and struck out three. In his second appearance of the series, he went 2.1 innings, allowed two hits and posted a strikeout in a 6-4 C-N victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne's Evan Taylor was named the SAC Player of the Week.
The SAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's nine sports information directors.
