C-N Faces Tusculum in Midweek Rivalry Matchup
After a 3-2 showing last weekend, Carson-Newman turns its attention to a key rivalry matchup with Tusculum.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Eagles beach volleyball team returns to the sand Wednesday for a rivalry matchup against Tusculum University, looking to continue its recent success in the series. The midweek matchup is slated for a 4:00pm start time in Greeneville, Tenn.
Carson-Newman enters the midweek matchup coming off a 3-2 weekend in Franklin Springs, where the Eagles picked up three sweeps over Emmanuel University and LaGrange College (twice). C-N showcased its depth in those wins, controlling all five courts in each sweep, while also gaining valuable experience against Colorado Mesa University in a pair of matches against a strong regional opponent.
The weekend tested the Eagles across all flights and provided a strong tune-up heading into a rivalry contest with Tusculum.
Despite the Tusculum Pioneers holding a 14-6 advantage in the all-time series, the Carson-Newman Eagles have shifted momentum in recent meetings. Carson-Newman has won each of the last three matchups, including a tightly contested 3-2 victory over Tusculum in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament last season.
