Lady Eagle Soccer Wins, 2-0
JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- After a scoreless first half, the Lady Eagles scored twice in the second frame to defeat King College, 2-0, and win their sixth straight game.
The Lady Eagles (6-0) held King College to just two shots and one corner kick for the match. C-N had 24 shots in the match and 18 corner kicks. Keepers Melissa Terrell and Nyssa Griffin combined for the shutout. Griffin garnered one save.
In the 49th minute, senior and SAC Player of the Week Rebecca Angus delivered a corner kick which Erica Stegner deflected into the goal for a 1-0 Lady Eagle lead. The C-N defense held fast and, in the 82nd minute, Christie Murray shot a pass from Jessie Stephens into the net for a 2-0 margin of victory.
The Lady Eagles return to SAC play this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. when they take on Presbyterian College at McCown Field.
