Lady Eagles Still Unbeaten
HARROGATE, TN-- Carson-Newman's Rebecca Angus completed her second straight hat trick, scoring three goals as part of a 4-goal second half for the Eagles to win 5-2 and remain unbeaten in the 2006 season.
C-N (4-0, 1-0 SAC) recovered from an own goal in the first half that tied the game 1-1 at halftime. Brittany Moore opened the Eagle scoring with an assist from Erica Stegner. In the second half, Zarmena Kasparites scored in the 58th minute to give the Lady Eagles the lead for good at 2-1. Angus then put on a show, scoring unassisted goals in the 71st and 84th minutes, respectively, and scoring her final goal in the 87th minute off a Lindsay Farris assist to earn the Lady Eagles their first South Atlantic Conference win of the season.
The Lady Eagles return to McCown Field on Saturday, September 9 to host a non-conference match against USC Upstate. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
