Carson-Newman Stays in National Spotlight in December CSCAA Rankings
Surrounded by some of Division II’s most established swimming programs, Carson-Newman’s men’s and women’s teams earned national attention in the December College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Dual Meet Poll.
RICHMOND, Va. – Carson-Newman women's swimming program has earned national recognition in the preseason College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Top 25 Dual Meet Poll, released Friday, Dec. 19th.
The CSCAA Dual Meet Poll is voted on by a committee of Division II coaches who evaluate teams based on dual meet results, performance trends, roster updates, and data from the SwimCloud simulator. While the poll does not predict NCAA Championship outcomes, it provides a national snapshot of each team's strength in dual meet competition.
After clocking in at #19 in the CSCAA November poll, the Eagles women's squad falls back four spots, ranked #23rd in the nation. The men's squad also drops down a few spots from #17 in November to number #22 in December.
In the December College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Top 25 Dual Meet Poll, powerhouse programs continue to dominate the national landscape, with Drury University's men's team holding the No. 1 spot, followed by perennial contenders Indianapolis and Tampa near the top of the charts. On the women's side, Tampa climbed into the No. 1 position, narrowly edging Nova Southeastern, while Colorado Mesa and Drury round out the upper tier of the rankings.
Carson-Newman's men's and women's swimming teams earned recognition, with the men ranked just inside the Top 25 and the women receiving votes not far behind, underscoring the Eagles' competitive presence nationally. Carson-Newman sits among a strong cohort of programs such as Delta State, Colorado School of Mines, and Rollins, who also garnered votes or rankings in the poll, signaling a deep and balanced Division II landscape as the season progresses.
