Eagles move to 17th in Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll
NORMAN, Okla. – The Carson-Newman men’s golf team moved up a spot to 17th in the latest edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll after finishing fifth at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, a Division I tournament hosted by Tennessee Tech.
NORMAN, Okla. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team moved up a spot to 17th in the latest edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll after finishing fifth at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, a Division I tournament hosted by Tennessee Tech.
The Eagles' 17th-place ranking is the highest in the Randy Wylie era.
Carson-Newman is the highest ranked South Atlantic Conference program with instate rival Lincoln Memorial following behind in 19th-place. The Orange and Blue are the 12th-highest ranked team from the South/Southeast region.
Chico State moved back to the top spot in the nation after a one poll hiatus; the Wildcats tallied 13 of the 23 first-place votes. West Florida jumped from fourth to second, while previously top-ranked Saint Leo fell to third. Florida Southern and Nova Southeastern rounded out the top-five.
The Eagles will conclude their regular season with the Tennessee River Ramble at Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tenn. on April 4 and 5.
