Friday Night's Game to be Broadcast on WNOX-FM 100.3
Sept. 11, 2008
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's football game with Bentley College will be broadcast on WNOX-FM 100.3 on Friday night, C-N athletic director David Barger announced this morning.
"We're excited about this opportunity," said Barger. "WNOX is great station and a great signal, and the move over for Friday night should work well for us."
WNOX is a 100,000-watt FM signal based out of Knoxville.
Pregame coverage on the Eagle Radio Network begins at 6:30 p.m. from Bentley Stadium. Zeke Beam will provide the play-by-play.
The Eagles make the move because of scheduling conflicts with high school football on flagship station WRJZ-AM 620, as C-N plays its first Friday night game in the Ken Sparks' era.
"We rarely run into a situation like this," said Sparks. "They often play high school football on Saturdays in the Boston area, so we had to play on Friday night, creating the overlap. We've had a tough time scheduling through the years, making trips to Oregon, Utah, Montana, Connecticut, North Dakota, and now Massachusetts. We have to take games where we can get them."
Carson-Newman is 1-1 and ranked 7th in the D2Football.com Poll.
