Aug. 17, 2007
PORTLAND, Ore.-- Former C-N Eagle Matt Teague will make his second Triple- A showing with the Portland Beavers on Saturday, August 18 against the Las Vegas 51s.
On August 3, Teague was called up from Class-A Eugene earlier that day, struck out five and gave up just one hit and one walk in his spot start against the Nashville Sounds.
He faced just one batter over the minimum before being lifted after 74 pitches and the game tied 0-0.
Teague was an eighth round draft pick of the San Diego Padres in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He led the Eagles in strikeouts (74) and victories (7) and walked just 18 batters in 86 innings in helping lead C-N to the 2007 South Atlantic Conference tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
