Teague Makes Impressive Triple A Debut

PORTLAND, Ore.-- Former C-N southpaw Matt Teague made his Triple A debut a successful one in a spot start for the Portland Beavers.
Teague who was called up from Class A Eugene earlier in the day, struck out five and gave up just one hit and one walk in his spot start.
The 22-year-old faced just one batter over the minimum before being lifted after 74 pitches and the game tied 0-0.
Teague was an eighth round draft pick of the San Diego Padres in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He led the team in strikeouts (74) and victories (7) and walked just 18 batters in 86 innings in helping lead the Eagles to the 2007 South Atlantic Conference tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
