Oreva Claims Second SAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award
For the second time this season, Joseph Oreva was named the SAC Male Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - For the second time this season, Joseph Oreva was named the SAC Male Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
The freshman out of Port Harcourt, Nigeria continued his phenomenal Carson-Newman debut, winning his third straight long jump event with a jump of 7.61 meters at the UIndy Last Chance Meet, a jump of almost half a meter longer than the second-place finisher.
Oreva still holds the number one distance in long jump at the Division II level, and will compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Mar. 12.
This is the second career SAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award for Oreva and the third weekly SAC Indoor Track honor of the year for the Carson-Newman Eagles.
