LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – Bowen Wentz and Dylan Frein both recorded top 30 finishes for the Eagles, who played strong through 15 holes before big scores got the better of them to end out the round.
The Eagles were +22 coming into the day, and end the tournament at +33. The players who counted for the team score in the final 18-hole round registered all of their over-par scores in the final three holes of the tournament.
"Wow, we played really well for 15 holes and let it slip away at the end. Very unfortunate," said head coach Randy Wylie. "Even par through 15 and finished at 11-over. Obviously, we need to have a stronger mental game to finish rounds."
As a team, the Eagles moved up three spots in the standings, beating SAC opponents Anderson, Coker, Newberry, and Tusculum. They recorded a 10th-place finish in the 18 team field.
