JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Eagles Men's golf lines up five challenging events leading up to the SAC Tournament in April, kicking off with a trip to Florida this next week.
The Carson-Newman Men's Golf team welcomed loads of new talent to the roster in the fall, including three promising freshmen and three skilled transfers. This new group has brought a fresh punch to the Eagles' lineup, who have the perfect combination of newcomers and returners as they enter the spring schedule.
Carson-Newman kicks off their spring the beginning of next week when they make the trek down south to Dade City, Florida for the St. Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Country Club. The club features two 18-hole courses with plenty of elevation changes designed by former tour pro Tom Lehman and course architect Kurt Sandness.
The Clippd standings currently list the Eagles as #68 in the nation, but will have plenty of opportunity to up that this spring. The field at the St. Leo Invite features the D1 University of South Florida, as well as #2 Lee, #4 Florida Southern, #19 Nova Southeastern, #21 Saint Leo, #22 Barry University, and #23 Rollins.
C-N will take a month between tournaments before it travels to Monroe, North Carolina on March 16-17 for the Ralph Hargett Memorial hosted by the #7 Wingate Bulldogs. The tournament will include nearly every SAC school, including #10 Catawba. The event will give Carson-Newman a chance to beat eight schools ranked above them in the standings.
The Eagles will stay fairly local for the next week, travelling just down the road to Lenoir City, Tennessee on March 23-24 for the Tennessee River Rumble hosted by Lincoln Memorial. #1 Grand Valley State and #10 North Georgia will be among the competition.
Men's golf rounds out the regular season at the 2026 Music City Invitational in Old Hickory, Tennessee. This was Carson-Newman's best tournament last season where they finished in 3rd.
Finally, the SAC Championships run from April 19-21 in Greenville, South Carolina. In what will be a new format in 2026, the field will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. Following a cut to the top four teams, the remaining players will play match play (#1 vs #4, #2 vs #3) on Tuesday. The remaining two teams will play another round of match play to decide the conference champion. Last season, Men's Golf finished 9th in the event.
