Guerreiro and Ott named All-SAC Honorable Mention
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman women’s tennis doubles combination of senior Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.) and junior Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) were named Honorable Mention All-South Atlantic Conference Wednesday afternoon by the league.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman women's tennis doubles combination of senior Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.) and junior Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) were named Honorable Mention All-South Atlantic Conference Wednesday afternoon by the league.
"Since we started playing doubles together, we have developed our relationship, which we transferred that off the court to in the court. We just have different talents. I'm better at the baseline and she's better at the net. That makes the perfect combination in doubles," Guerreiro said. "I'm real thankful that I was able to play doubles with her."
This season, the duo was 14-2 in doubles play and opened the season on a nine-set win streak. The two put together a stretch of four consecutive sets starting on March 16th against Anderson stretching to March 20th against Catawba where they did not concede more than four games. The doubles combination has won its last two sets, which includes an 8-0 shut out of Lenior-Rhyne on April 11th.

"The award is just another reason that it is special to play with Patricia and just to play on the team. I think we did great this year and we played hard. We fought together and so it's just another thing towards just making my senior year."
During the last two seasons, Ott and Guerreiro have picked up 28 doubles wins.
Last season, Guerreiro was named All-SAC Honorable Mention in singles play. Guerreiro was a preseason second team All-SAC honor her freshman year.
