Eagles get swept by #11 North Georgia in Dahlonega

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Men's tennis dropped their fourth straight match to the Nighthawks today in a 7-0 decision.
It's been a challenging stretch of matches for the young Eagles tennis team, who have yet to find their footing in a challenging Southeast region. This afternoon was no different; the Eagles travelled down to the Peach State and couldn't string together games against the ranked Nighthawks.
At 1-6, this is the worst start to the men's season since the spring of the 2018-18 season, where the Eagles went 1-12 to start the year. Carson-Newman is 1-5 against regional opponents so far in 2026.
With the losses across the board, Max Stollecker's perfect singles record slips to 3-1, while the pair of Stollecker and Louis Keenan move to 3-3 on the season at first doubles.
In the doubles matches, C-N dropped the point after Keenan and Stollecker lost 6-1 and Wade Donovan and Giancarlo Rosario dropped a 6-2 decision at third doubles. At second doubles Yassin Ali and Leonard Baecker were down 4-2 when the doubles point was clinched.
Keenan pushed the #1 player in the region Pedro Liborio, but eventually lost the match 6-4, 6-2. Stollecker took a set off of Marcos Castellanos, but fell 6-4 in the final set.
At third singles, Yassin Ali fell 6-2 in set one, but rallied to challenge Franco Rebora, eventually falling 7-6 in set two.
At fourth singles, Giancarlo Rosario dropped his 5th singles match of the year by scores of 6-1, 6-1. The freshman is in the same boat with his classmate Wade Donovan, who challenged the Nighthawks at 5th singles today, eventually dropping the match 6-2, 7-5. Boris Jordanov rounded out the lineup with a 6-2, 6-0 loss.
Carson-Newman will wrap up their three-match road trip with a final showdown against #8 Catawba on Wednesday in Salisbury, N.C., where C-N will look to collect their first win since February 14th.
