Men open conference play at home
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman (0-3, 0-0 SAC) men’s soccer team hosts Catawba (2-3, 0-1 SAC) for its first SAC match of the season tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.

The men are coming off a devastating 3-2 loss to King last Wednesday. Junior Robert Wagner (Germany) gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Within the first 20 minutes of the second half, the Tornado took a 3-1 lead.
Junior Sindre Welo (Norway) brought C-N within a goal in the 71st minute.
"Myself, my staff and our players," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said, "have nothing to say about the game on Saturday. Our actions will speak louder than words."
Catawba is coming off a strong 3-0 win against Mount Olive Wednesday. Kenny Bonilla, Brian Woulfe, and Michael Basnett each put up a goal in the second half.
Catawba fell 2-0 to Anderson in its first conference match.
Last season, the Eagles defeated Anderson 3-2 in overtime in regular season. In the regional tournament, C-N again toppled Anderson 3-2. Keeper Nick Martin (Russellville, Tenn.), now a senior, made three saves that match.
The Indians beat the Eagles 2-0 last year with two second half goals by Bonilla and Declan Stimson.
"We," Coach Moodie said, "will be ready."
