Lady Eagles Finish Second at Aramark Invitational

Etowah, N.C. -- Carson-Newman junior Sara Jane Sinard (Jefferson City, Tenn.) finished as the medalist and the Lady Eagles turned in a two-day 667 (+91) at the Aramark Collegiate Invitational, one stroke behind tournament champion Lenoir-Rhyne in Etowah, N.C. on Tuesday.
The second place finish marks the best finish in the program's first year. All four qualifying Lady Eagle golfers finished in the top 15 at the 6,028-yard Etowah Valley Country Club.
Sinard fired a backed up her first round 76 with 77 on Tuesday to shoot 9-over for the tournament, beating Lenoir-Rhyne's Megan Ulep by five strokes.
Freshman Jennifer Oliver (Knoxville, Tenn.) fired an 80 on Day 2, to finish 10 strokes back at 163 (+19), good for a fourth place finish.
Fellow freshman Erica Ray (Maryville, Tenn.) fired a 93-82 for a two-day 175 (+31), while sophomore Leah Hagedorn (Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.) finished a stroke behind her at 176 (+32) with an 84-92.
The tournament marks the end of C-N's first fall season.
