Carson-Newman To Add Women's Golf In 2008-'09 Season

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman College will add women's golf as its 17th sport beginning in the 2008-2009 season, athletic director David Barger announced today.
John Minor, who currently coaches the men's golf team, will also coach the women's team. More than 450 student-athletes compete at Carson-Newman and Coach Minor is pleased that the college will provide a program for women which reflects the growing popularity of the sport.
"Carson-Newman provides a great academic, social, and spiritual environment for young ladies in East Tennessee to excel," Minor said. "I'm excited about the challenge of developing a competitive women's golf team at C-N."
