JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Junior pitcher Ashley Boyd (Chattanooga, Tenn.) tossed a four-hit shutout, and junior Whitney Durham (Rossville, Ga.) delivered the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the Carson-Newman softball team to a 1-0 victory over Limestone in game two on Wednesday, giving it a split in the series. Limestone defeated the Lady Eagles, 4-2, in eight innings in the first game at the Lady Eagle Softball Complex.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- A lineup card was the difference in game two of the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Super Regional. Top-ranked North Georgia was credited with a 1-0 win over visiting Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega, Georgia, but not until after C-N had tied the game at 1-1 and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh, only to see the run stripped from the board.
