JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Head coach Jon Parker has announced the women's 2024 fall schedule, which features some familiar tournaments, including two at home at the back end of the season.
The Eagles start the season on Saturday at the LMU Invitational in Harrogate, Tennessee, the same event C-N kicked off a year ago.
C-N has returning experience and competed at the event a year ago in Sindija Manovska and Leah McBride. Manovska earned a singles win over Tusculum's Elodie Baechler, while McBride had two competitive matches in the two-day event.
The Eagles then head to the Belmont Abbey Invitational in Belmont, North Carolina, on September 19th and 20th. This is another event C-N played in a year ago.
C-N made the trip to Belmont in early October, where the sophomore McBride earned her first singles win for the Eagles, defeating University of Mount Olive's Simone Szovan. While the event was featured on C-N's schedule last year, McBride is the only current Eagle with experience at the event.
Parker's team closes September at the ITA Fall Championships in Sumter, South Carolina, on September 27th-30th.
C-N had a good bit of success in Sumter last season, headlined by McBride's run to the round of 16. The then-freshman delivered an impressive performance, rattling off three-straight wins, including an upset over Wingate's 32nd-seeded Fernanda Castillo.
October is a favorable month for the Eagles, featuring two home events. The first is the first UTR College Circuit at Carson-Newman on October 11th and 12th.
C-N ends the fall with the Eagle Invitational at Carson-Newman on October 26th and 27th.
The Eagles introduced the event a year ago and closed the fall season on a high note. Welcoming Bluefield State and Tusculum to Mossy Creek, the Eagles dominated on the singles court.
Returners Manovska, McBride, and Maria Ulloa all secured singles wins against Bluefield State, setting the tone for an impressive spring season.
After an impressive season under first-year head coach Jon Parker, the Eagles will look to build on that momentum with a handful of new faces.
Manovska, McBride, and Ulloa are the three returners from last year's team, as C-N welcomes seven new players for the 2024-25 season.
The Eagles will kick off the season on Saturday at the LMU Invitational in Harrogate, Tennessee.
