STARKVILLE, Miss. — Carson-Newman junior pitcher Mary Shealy (Clinton, S.C.), senior outfielder Leah Price (Spring City, Tenn.) and sophomore catcher Bri Shoemake (Ooltewah, Tenn.) have been named first team Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Southeast Region selections, the NFCA announced Thursday.
Shealy, who was selected as a utility player, was a force for the Lady Eagles this season both in the circle and at the plate. She compiled a 38-15 record with a 2.19 earned run average. Her 38 wins leads the nation. Shealy, who is also the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and a first team Daktronics All-Southeast Region selection, led C-N with 12 home runs on the year. She batted .299 with seven doubles and 42 RBIs.

Price, who was also a first team Daktronics All-Southeast Region selection, ranked second in the SAC in both hits (69) and stolen bases (30). She also produced six doubles, four triples, 37 runs scored and 34 RBIs.

C-N closed out its 2011 season on Sunday with a loss in the NCAA D-II Southeast Regional final. The Lady Eagles finished the year 41-17-1 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the seventh-straight season.
This year's teams are comprised of 206 student-athletes from 107 institutions spread out over the eight NFCA regions, with a first and second team for each region.
Second-ranked North Georgia led the way with seven selections this season by placing five players on the first team and two on the second team. Following closely behind the Saints was No. 17 Emporia State, which had a total of six all-region selections. The Hornets placed four student-athletes on the first team and two on the second team.
NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions select the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams and all honorees are now eligible to be selected to one of three All-American teams.
The 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams will be announced at the 2011 NCAA Banquet of Champions in the Community Ballroom of the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. on Wednesday, May 25.
