Price serves up first AstroTurf SAC player of the week
Hannah Price picked up her first career South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week honor the league announced Monday
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Hannah Price picked up her first career South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week honor the league announced Monday as the senior helped the Carson-Newman women's tennis capture a weekend sweep of Belmont Abbey and Tennessee Wesleyan.
This is the first SAC Player of the Week honor for Carson-Newman women's tennis since Jill Corsato-Owsianka won in March of 2018.
The Knoxville, Tenn. Native led her team to a 7-0 sweep of the Belmont Abbey Crusaders before assisting in the team's 5-2 victory over the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.
To start her Saturday, Price and teammate Natasha Forrest swept their opponents 6-0 in the no. 2 doubles position before Price went on to win 6-3, 6-3 over her Crusader foe at the no. 3 singles spot. She finished with another 6-0 win alongside Forrest at no. 2 doubles and a 6-1, 10-2 victory at no. 3 singles against Tennessee Wesleyan.
So far in the 2021 season, Price is a combined 6-0 for both doubles and singles. She and Forrest are a perfect 3-0 in no. 2 doubles action while Price leads the team with her 3-0 singles record ahead of their next matchup.
