Full 2021 schedule in place for Eagles Tennis

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – A duration of 331 days between competition marks the return of action in 2021 for the Eagles Tennis teams under third-year head coach Jim Frederick. Frederick will look to lead the Eagles towards a successful 2020-21 campaign when the Eagles open up play on Feb. 6, 2021 against Union (Tenn.) at the Knoxville Racquet Club.
C-N's first four mathces come against Union (Tenn.), Belmont Abbey, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Austin Peay at the Knoxville Racquet Club before the squads turns its attention to its first true road trip to Cleveland, Tenn. to face the Flames of Lee University on February 24.
SAC play opens up for the The Eagles at the Charles A. "Buddy" Catlett Tennis Complex on February 28 against Virginia-Wise. The final SAC conference matchup is scheduled for April 10 against Catawba on the road.
Following the team's Mossy Creek opener against UVA-Wise, Carson-Newman journeys on one of the longest road trips of the season with stops to face Coker on March 3, North Georgia on March 6 and wrapping up their road travels against Young Harris on April 7.
Other road trips on the docket include a quick trip up to Harrogate to match up against SAC compadre Lincoln Memorial on March 17. The Eagles later make a trip for a battle with one of the most prominent Division II tennis programs, the Wingate Bulldogs, on March 27 before returning to the Volunteer State for a matchup against Tusculum on March 31.
Senior day for Eagles Tennis is slated for April 3 when the Eagles welcome the Royals of Queens University to the Charles A. "Buddy" Catlett Tennis Complex along the banks of Mossy Creek.
Not counting home matches at the Knoxville Racquet Club which still see the team travel or the exhibition match at Belmont on March 13, the Eagles will rack up approximately 1,500 miles on the road. Stretched across the continental United States, the miles from Mossy Creek would reach all the way to Bosquecito, New Mexico.
