Petersen Headlines C-N's Solid Spring Debut on Day One of Battle at Hilton Head

C-N was led by Ida Petersen in the first two rounds, as the junior notched back-to-back 74s to start her spring season, tying for second after day one at 4-over.
Despite three bogeys on the front nine in round one, Petersen notched a birdie to enter the back nine at 2-over. The junior shot all nine holes at par on the final stretch of the first round, finishing the round at 2-over.
In round two, Petersen canceled a bogey with a birdie and the rest of the holes on the front nine at par to enter the back nine at even-par. Despite adding two strokes on a pair of bogeys on the back nine, the junior carded seven pars to finish the round at 2-over and finish the day tied for 2nd.
Anaelle Picot sits in 11th after day one following a pair of 77-stroke rounds to finish the day at 10-over. Picot's opening nine holes feature four bogeys, but five pars to enter the back nine at 4-over. She was stellar on the back nine, adding just one stroke on an early bogey and shot the other eight holes at par to finish the round at 5-over.
Picot held steady on the front nine, carding six pars to limit the damage of three bogeys and enter the back nine at three-over. Despite adding a pair of strokes on the back nine, Picot stroked a bogey and five pars to finish the round at five-over, placing herself firmly in the top 15 after day one.
Madison Cline finished the day tied for 15th, carding a team-best 73 in round one before an 82 in round two.
Cline stroked two bogeys on the opening round's front nine, but combatted it with back-to-back birdies and five holes at par to enter the back nine at even-par. The junior added one stroke on a late bogey on the back nine but carded eight pars to finish the round at 1-over.
In round two, Cline stroked six holes over par on the front nine, including two double bogeys, but three holes at par limited the damage and sent her to the day's final stretch at 9-over. She carded five-straight pars on the back nine, broken up by a birdie on hole 15. A late double bogey added a stroke to her total to end the round at 10-over, but a stellar stretch on the back nine helped the junior finish in the top 15 after day one.
Emery Fisher finished the day tied for 32nd, shooting an 82 in round one and 78 in round two.
The sophomore shot five holes over par on the front nine in round one, but two birdies and two pars put her at 5-over entering the opening round's back nine. On the back nine, she added five strokes on four holes over par but added five pars to finish the round at 10-over.
In an improved second round, Fisher stroked six pars on the front nine and added a birdie to limit the damage of two holes over par. Fisher shot four holes over par on the back nine, but two birdies and three pars helped her finish the round at 6-over.
Parker Miller rounds out the Eagles on day one, shooting an 85 in round one and an 82 in the second round. Despite five holes over par in the first round's front nine, Miller carded three pars to enter the back nine at 10-over. Miller added three strokes on the back nine, but a birdie and four pars helped her finish the round at 13-over.
In round two, despite three triple bogeys, Miller shot five pars, sending her to the day's final stretch at 8-over. Miller carded five-straight pars on the back nine, and despite back-to-back bogeys, she shot an additional two pars to finish the round at 10-over.
The Eagles sit five strokes behind No. 2 Wingate ahead of tomorrow's decisive third round, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Robert Trent Jones at Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
